Description

Learn to play and be present! This full day workshop is the perfect opportunity to gain an introduction to the work of Viola Spolin, the acting method which began the improvisational theatre movement in North America! In this workshop you will explore the fundamentals of Spolin's work, learning how to be present through playful focus.  We will learn to create an imaginary environment, communicate with fellow players and the audience, and embody character and relationship.   No prior improv experience is required for this workshop.  If you are a complete beginner this work is the perfect introduction to improv, as it eases you in gently.  This work is not about being fast and funny, or being clever.  It is about connection.   If you have been improvising for years this work will help you to return to "beginner's mind," get out of your head, and unlock hidden reserves of creativity.
