Learn to play and be present!
This weekend workshop is the perfect opportunity to gain an introduction to the work of Viola Spolin, the acting method which began the improvisational theatre movement in North America!
In this workshop you will explore the fundamentals of Spolin's work, learning how to be present through playful focus. We will learn to create an imaginary environment, communicate with fellow players and the audience, and embody character and relationship.
No prior improv experience is required for this workshop. If you are a complete beginner this work is the perfect introduction to improv, as it eases you in gently. This work is not about being fast and funny, or being clever. It is about connection.
You can sign up for either just the first day, or both days. The first day will be an introduction, and the second day will be an opportunity to go a little deeper in the work.
If you have been improvising for years this work will help you to return to "beginner's mind," get out of your head, and unlock hidden reserves of creativity.
You can sign up via our booking page, or by emailing winnipegtheatregames@gmail.com. Donations can be made via e-transfer to winnipegtheatregames@gmail.com, or in person.

"How much more certain would knowledge be if it came from and out of the excitement of learning itself? How many human values will be lost and how much will our art forms be deprived if we seek only success."
