Acting Classes
for Kids in Winnipeg
We offer acting classes for kids in a semester format, with our Fall Term running September to December, our Winter Term from January to March, and our Spring Term from April to June. Our classes all include a final presentation for friends and family.
We don't use the idea of different levels in our acting classes. Everyone learns together, so classes can contain both new and returning students. We believe that this helps everyone to progress more quickly, as new students benefit from the experience of returning students, and returning students get continued work on fundamentals.
These acting classes are for everyone! This work is perfect for complete beginners as it gently eases students into improvisation, but it is deep enough that it can prepare even young children for professional work in the theatre. All that is required is a love for the theatre and a dedication to the process!
Beyond teaching improv skills, this work also improves confidence, self esteem, teamwork and creativity in all facets of life. It has been proven to have far reaching benefits for physical, mental, and emotional well being.
Please note: our age limits are intended as guidelines rather than limitations - if you have a child who is a bit older or younger we can often make accomodations.
If you have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!

In this class students will explore the work of Viola Spolin. Often called the "mother of improvisation," her work is what began the improvisational theatre movement in North America. Her work is also the only method of actor training developed specifically with and for youth!
No previous experience is required for this class. Whether you have been improvising for years, or are completely new to this artform, this class will meet you where you are at. No matter what your previous experience, this work will allow you unlock hidden reserves of creativity.
Although this work is based in improvisation it also teaches general acting skills and is applicable to any form of theatre or film.
